Just Massage – Foreigners’ Favorite Japanese-styled Acupressure

Feature by SKETCH (August 2011)

This is a massage center, which is highly appreciated because of its Japanese technique of acupressure practiced by visual-impaired therapists. Equipped by clean and opened room system, Just Massage has the majority of customers who are foreigners and expats living and working in Vietnam.

At the beginning, a NGO of the US sent professor to teach massage technique for the first 4 visual-impaired therapists. Those techniques then are handed down to other therapists. According to Ms. Thanh (Just Massage’s Manager), "the sensation in the fingertips of the blind is more sensitive than normal people, that’s why their technique is better". "Our vision is to spread to other cities beside Hanoi in the future. With the goal of turning massage into a career for the blind, we hope that this center will become a new business model", said the young Manager.
